Proper Use & Safety Guidelines
Intended Use
The SOMBRANO® S+ is designed for sun protection and should not be used as a weather shelter. Its wind resistance is limited, and it must be closed in strong winds.
Safety Precautions
- UV Protection – The effectiveness of UV protection varies based on location and conditions. Additional sun protection measures may be necessary
- Wind Safety – Close the sunshade immediately in case of strong winds or gusts. Allowing it to flap in the wind may damage the fabric
- Supervision – Never leave the sunshade open and unattended. Any damage caused is not covered under warranty
- Safe Operation – Ensure no people or objects are near the moving parts while opening, closing, or adjusting the canopy
- Secure Installation – The anchoring system must be suitable for the selected sunshade size.
Installation Steps
1. Installation
a) Attach the rotating ball-bearing base to the sunshade base flange or ground socket.
b) Insert the add-on weights into the base.
c) Place the swivel base cover over the base and click it into place.
d) Attach the crank handle to the hexagonal mount and secure it with the stud.
e) Insert the winding lever onto the pin and fix it with the locking screw.
2. Opening the Sunshade
a) Release the binding belt and gently separate the canopy rods.
b) Turn the hand crank to open the sunshade. Ensure the canopy is fully extended and properly tensioned.
3. Adjusting the Canopy Tilt
a) Ensure the sunshade is open. Pull the tilting rod out of the pole groove.
b) Select the desired inclination and allow the rod to lock into place.
c) Reinsert the tilting rod into the groove and secure it with the clip.
4. Rotating the Canopy
a) Step on the foot pedal of the rotating base.
b) Turn the canopy to the desired position and release the pedal to lock it in place.
5. Closing the Sunshade
a) Adjust the sunshade to a horizontal position (0°) before closing.
b) Turn the winding lever to retract the canopy. If the support arm mechanism does not lower automatically, gently pull it down while winding.
6. Attaching the Osyrion Battery Light (Optional Accessory)
a) On the slider, remove the center screw and extend the adapter downward (this is easier if the shade is partially open).
b) Attach the Osyrion light onto the adapter and click it into place.
7. Proper Rolling & Storage
a) Once closed, fully extend each fabric panel individually to prevent them from getting caught between the rods.
b) Roll up the fabric panels tightly in layers around the canopy.
c) Secure the rolled-up fabric with the binding belt and fasten the canopy to the pole in a figure-eight pattern for proper storage.

Treatment and care
Maintenance and Care Instructions
- Dry the sunshade when wet by opening it fully.
- Only apply the protective cover when the sunshade is completely dry.
- Store the dry sunshade in a sheltered location to protect it from the elements.
- If cleaning is needed, use lukewarm water, a mild detergent, and a sponge to gently clean the fabric. If necessary, treat the fabric with a fluorine-based impregnating spray for enhanced protection.
- Slide marks on the aluminum bars can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth.
- For any damage or repairs, please contact your authorized Glatz partner. Always use original Glatz spare parts for repairs.
Lifespan
With proper care and regular maintenance, your SOMBRANO® S+ will provide long-lasting enjoyment for many years.
The sunshade is made of metal and synthetic materials, and disposal at the end of its lifespan should be handled in accordance with your local environmental regulations and disposal guidelines.

Warranty Policy
Warranty Coverage
Glatz AG products come with a limited warranty. Any defects in delivered items must be reported in writing within 14 days of receipt. After this period, warranty coverage is restricted to repairs only. Cancellations, replacements, or price adjustments are not permitted if the product can be repaired within a reasonable timeframe.
Warranty Period
Warranty and guarantee claims expire two years after the product has been handed over to the shipping carrier.
Liability Limitations
Glatz AG is only liable for damages in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Liability for indirect or consequential damages is expressly excluded.

The above limitations do not apply in cases involving:
- Injury to life, limb, or health

- Damages caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct
