Surface Treatment of Wood
Material Quality
- Made from natural, high-quality timber with excellent durability and density
- Slow-growing wood ensures a straight grain, minimal knots, and a high heartwood content
- As a natural material, wood may develop cracks, color variations, or other changes – these are normal and not defects
Weather Sensitivity & Timing
- Wood is highly sensitive to sunlight and moisture
- Treat all wood components immediately upon delivery, or no later than after assembly
- Ideal treatment conditions: dry, partly cloudy weather over 41°F (+5°C)
Treatment Process
- Step 1: Apply a clear wood preservative to protect against mold and blue stain
- Step 2: Finish with a clear, translucent, or colored preservative, or a breathable opaque paint
- Always use breathable coatings – avoid anything that creates a sealed, non-permeable film
- Be sure to treat both sides of doors and windows
Maintenance
- Purchase the correct treatment products from a trusted dealer
- Inspect the wooden structures yearly
- Perform maintenance treatments on time to prolong the product’s life
Grill Operation and Maintenance
Installation & Setup
- Ensure proper airflow by installing at least three air ducts (4.3 in / 110 mm diameter) as instructed in the foundation guide (page 4)
- Place the grill on a stable, level, and non-flammable base
- Keep the floor air duct beneath the grill open and clean
- Regularly empty and clean the ash box to maintain airflow
Usage Instructions
- Burn small, dry pieces of firewood, placing them in the center of the grill
- You may use ignition fluid cautiously, if needed
- Add firewood or charcoal gradually as the grill heats up – avoid high flames
- Keep the fire centered for proper smoke ventilation into the hood
Safety & Maintenance
- Never leave the grill unattended while it’s in use
- Allow the fire and embers to extinguish naturally
- Clean the grill only once it has completely cooled to avoid damage or injury
