Safety Precautions
- UV Protection – The effectiveness of UV protection varies based on location and conditions. Additional sun protection measures may be necessary
- Wind Safety – Close the sunshade immediately in case of strong winds or gusts. Allowing it to flap in the wind may damage the fabric
- Supervision – Never leave the sunshade open and unattended
- Safe Operation – Ensure no people or objects are near the moving parts while opening, closing, or adjusting the canopy
Intended Use
This parasol is designed to provide protection from solar radiation and is suitable for use in private households, hospitality settings, hotels, and similar environments. It must be used strictly in accordance with these installation and operating instructions. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage. We reserve the right to make technical modifications to improve performance. In this guide, the AMBIENTE Nova may be referred to as "the product" or "the parasol."
Installation & Setup
1. Unpacking the Parasol
Your package includes:
- Parasol
- Crank
- Binding strap
- Support tube cover
- Operating instructions
⚠️ Important: Properly dispose of all packaging materials and keep them away from children. Do not use any damaged components—report any transport damage immediately.
2. Positioning the Parasol
- Carefully place the parasol on a clean, level surface.
- The parasol is heavy—ensure at least three people handle it for safety.
3. Preparing the Floor Fastening
Install the floor mounting unit following the separate mounting instructions provided.
4. Pre-Assembling the Optional Standpipe
- Position the standpipe onto the floor fastening unit with the side containing two threaded holes facing forward (toward the parasol).
- Align the holes and adjust as necessary.
- Place five washers into position.
- Secure the standpipe with five hexagonal screws.
⚠️ Ensure that the threaded holes remain positioned forward to allow for proper assembly.
5. Attaching the Parasol
- Slide the standpipe cover onto the mast.
- Carefully place the parasol onto the standpipe.
- Secure the parasol using two washers and two round-headed screws.
- Insert the crank and remove the binding strap.
- Open the parasol using the crank.
- Ensure that all internal components are properly engaged.
⚠️ Due to its weight, at least three people should assist in this step to prevent accidents.
6. Securing the Parasol
- Make final adjustments to the parasol’s positioning.
- Tighten all five hexagonal screws to lock it in place.
- Lower the standpipe cover as far as possible.
- Close the parasol.
- Wrap and secure the fabric segments neatly.
- Fasten the parasol with the binding strap.
- Remove the crank for storage.
Operating the Parasol
1. Opening the Parasol
- Remove the protective cover.
- Detach the binding strap.
- Attach the crank.
- Rotate the crank until the parasol is fully opened.
- Confirm that all internal parts are securely engaged.
⚠️ The parasol automatically aligns horizontally. To ensure safe operation, all internal components must be fully engaged before use.
2. Closing the Parasol
- Attach the crank.
- Turn the crank counterclockwise until the parasol is completely closed.
- Remove the crank.
⚠️ Keep the parasol as compact as possible when closed to protect against wind and weather damage.
3. Securing & Protecting the Parasol
- Wrap and secure the fabric segments neatly.
- Fasten the parasol using the binding strap.
- Use the protective cover if needed.
⚠️ To extend the lifespan of the canopy fabric, Glatz strongly recommends using a protective sleeve whenever the parasol is closed. Ensure the parasol is completely dry before wrapping or storing it.

- Always allow the parasol to fully dry while open to prevent mold and discoloration.
- Use a protective sleeve to extend the parasol’s lifespan, but only cover it when completely dry.
- Do not clean the protective sleeve in a washing machine or use harsh chemicals.
- Clean the canopy with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and a soft sponge when needed.
- Avoid bleach or sharp objects to prevent damage to the fabric.
- Periodically check and tighten all screws to maintain stability.
- If the parasol is exposed to strong winds or harsh weather, expect increased wear—in such cases, more frequent maintenance is recommended.
- Most parasol issues can be repaired by an authorized GLATZ partner—always use original GLATZ replacement parts for repairs.
Disassembly & Storage
⚠ WARNING: Risk of Injury – The parasol may topple if not handled properly!
If the parasol will not be used for an extended period, follow these steps for safe disassembly:
- Close and securely tie the parasol.
- Dismantle it by reversing the installation steps.
- Store the parasol horizontally in a dry location along with all accessories.

Glatz AG products come with a limited warranty. Any defects in delivered items must be reported in writing within 14 days of receipt. After this period, warranty coverage is restricted to repairs only. Cancellations, replacements, or price adjustments are not permitted if the product can be repaired within a reasonable timeframe.
Warranty Period
Warranty and guarantee claims expire two years after the product has been handed over to the shipping carrier.
Liability Limitations
Glatz AG is only liable for damages in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Liability for indirect or consequential damages is expressly excluded.
